1. Brisbane AFL Club

The Brisbane AFL is an Australian rules football club which plays in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club is based in Brisbane, Queensland. The club was formed in 1996 from the merger of the Brisbane Bears and the Fitzroy Lions. It is the most successful AFL club of the last decade (2000–2009), having appeared in four consecutive AFL Grand Finals between 2001 and 2004, winning three premierships (2001, 2002 and 2003).

The club is based at The Gabba and is captained by Jonathan Brown and coached by Michael Voss, a former captain of the club.

2. Collingwood AFL Club

The Collingwood Football Club is an Australian rules football club which plays in the Australian Football League (AFL). Formed in 1892, the club traditionally represented the inner-Melbourne suburb of Collingwood, and was based at Victoria Park in that suburb; the club is now based in the Melbourne Sports and Entertainment Precinct in Melbourne, playing its home games at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and with its training and administrative base in Gosch’s Paddock and the Westpac Centre.

Collingwood is the most supported club in the AFL and the most supported club in any sport in Australia.It has consistently attracted much higher than average crowds to its home games than other clubs in the league, and had a league record of 71,516 members in the 2011 season.

 3. Geelong AFL Club

The Geelong Football Club is a professional Australian rules football club, named after and based in the city of Geelong, playing in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club has been the VFL/AFL premiers nine times, with a record equalling 3 in the AFL era. Geelong has also won nine McClelland Trophies, a record it shares with Essendon. Geelong is the most successful club since the AFL began in 1990, with three premierships and seven grand final appearances.

Formed in 1859, Geelong is the second oldest club in the AFL after Melbourne and one of the oldest football clubs in the world.[3] Along with its AFL team, the club also fields a stand-alone team in the Victoria Football league (VFL).

The club participated in the first football competition in Australia, winning the second season in 1863, was a foundation Victorian Football Association (VFA) and the Victorian Football League (VFL) in 1897.

4. Melbourne AFL Club

The Melbourne Football Club, is an Australian rules football club playing in the Australian Football League (AFL), based in Melbourne, Victoria.

In 1859,a few days after it was founded, some of its members created the code of football that it still plays. In 1862 it competed in what may be the earliest challenge trophy competition, was a foundation member of the Victorian Football Association (VFA) (1877), one of two associations and governing bodies formed in the same year and in 1897 it became a foundation member of the Victorian Football League (VFL) competition which later became the national Australian Football League (AFL).

5. Richmond AFL Club

The Richmond Football Club,  is an Australian rules football club which competes in the Australian Football League. Richmond shares healthy rivalries with Carlton, Collingwood and Essendon. After winning five premierships between 1967 and 1980, the club hit the depths in 1990, when a large debt almost forced them to fold. In the last 15 years, Richmond regained a strong financial position without enjoying any sustained finals success. Nonetheless the Tigers boast a mighty history (ten premierships) and a host of star players and personalities who have contributed to the formation of the unique Richmond football identity.
